Our Story: Beyond the Classroom Walls
Nest Learning was founded from a deep professional conviction that the education system often fails to meet the needs of the most vulnerable pupils.

Drawing on 15 years of experience, including a decade in pastoral leadership (Middle and Senior Management), I've seen first-hand why mainstream settings struggle to support children facing school attendance difficulties, high anxiety, or exclusion. The system often exacerbates emotional distress rather than providing a path to progress.

Nest Learning is the specialist, trauma-informed provision dedicated to these pupils and their families. We exist to provide that essential bridge—a safe, non-judgemental space where the child’s well-being is always the non-negotiable priority.
Our Expertise: Credentials That Build Trust
In the high-trust world of therapeutic education, expertise matters. Nest Learning is built on a foundation of rigorous professional experience combined with specialised therapeutic training.
Core Credentials of the Founder:

-
Senior Leadership Experience: Five years in roles including Deputy and Assistant Head, ensuring a deep understanding of school operations, curriculum, and system pressures.
-
Specialised Therapeutic Training: Drawing and Talking Practitioner, Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, and Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children's Mental Health.
-
Compliance & Curriculum Authority: Up-to-date with the latest Safeguarding protocols, Ofsted changes, and government curriculum guidance.
The Trauma-Informed Difference: Regulation First
We firmly believe that for children who have experienced high anxiety, trauma, or have additional SEND
needs, emotional regulation must precede learning.

Nest Learning provides more than private tuition; it is Expert-Led, SEND-Aware support. Our approach
is distinct:

-
Child-Led: We focus on emotional regulation first. If a pupil is disregulated, effective learning is simply impossible.
-
Trauma-Informed: We cultivate a secure, non-judgemental space to address the underlying causes, replacing anxiety with competence.

Our method, underpinned by counselling skills and rigorous safeguarding protocols, ensures your
child is truly ready to engage.
Holistic & Future-Focused
We view every child holistically. We collaborate with parents and schools to ensure a cohesive support network, and our detailed record-keeping assists directly with EHCP applications and Annual Reviews.

Our dedicated physical space is designed to be a bridge—a predictable, grounded environment that is safe and non-overstimulating.

Success for us goes beyond reintegration. It means guiding your child from attendance difficulties towards a purposeful, long term direction—a lasting path to confidence and achievement, whatever their unique journey entails.
