Finding Your Nest: A Place Where Learning Feels Different
If you’re reading this, you might be someone who finds school tricky, boring, or maybe even a little
overwhelming. That's totally okay! Lots of smart, creative people feel that way. You might have missed some school, or maybe you just feel like your brain works a bit differently than everyone else’s.
Here at Nest Learning, we believe that every person is a learner—we just need to find the right way for you. This isn't school, and we're not here to judge. We’re here to give you a safe, calm space to figure things out, move at your own pace, and discover what makes you awesome.
Why Am I Here? (And Why That's Cool)
Sometimes, when you struggle with school, it’s not about how smart you are. It’s about how you feel.
-
Maybe school just feels too noisy or the work goes too fast, and that makes you feel anxious or frustrated.
-
Maybe things at home or in the past have made it hard to focus on learning right now.
-
Maybe your brain loves to move, and sitting still all day just doesn't work for you.
-
Maybe you have ADHD, Autism (ASD), or Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and the usual rules of school don't make sense for how you operate.

Whatever the reason, being at Nest Learning means you're taking a break from the stress. We start by
seeing you as a whole person, not just a student who needs to catch up.
What Happens When I'm Here?
The cool thing about Nest Learning is that you get a say in everything. This time is just for you. We might work together online, at our dedicated space in East Grinstead, or maybe even at your home.
We use gentle guidance to make learning feel interesting again:

Instead of…

Drilling facts

Only using textbooks

Pressuring you to "do the work"

Only focusing on subjects

We might try...

Following your curiosity. If you're interested in space, we'll use space to learn maths and writing.
"Drawing and Talking" to help you understand big feelings, or using building blocks and art to explain ideas.
Setting small, achievable goals that feel just right for you, or taking a break when you need one.
Working on the skills that help you feel calmer and more in control, like understanding your own emotions and building resilience.
The Best Part: Feeling Related To
It’s easy to feel like an outsider when school isn't working for you. At Nest Learning, you’re connected to people who understand that feeling.

This is your opportunity to feel heard and respected. Sometimes, we can even arrange for you to meet
other learners like you in a small group setting, so you can share experiences and make connections.

When it comes to school, we know you have challenges to face. So, we work on building your inner
toolbox. This support includes working with your whole team—whether that's your family, carers, or school support staff—to make sure everyone understands your needs and is working in the same direction. If the plan is to return to school, we'll build a quiet, confident strategy together. If your journey is non-traditional, we'll help you figure out what your unique learning path looks like and build the skills you need to take on any challenge feeling ready and strong. You might be surprised at how much you can achieve when the pressure is off and the learning is actually about you.
