Frequently Asked Questions for Schools

Q1: What are your safeguarding credentials for working on-site or in pupils' homes?

A: Safeguarding is non-negotiable. All Nest Learning staff hold enhanced DBS checks that are kept fully
up-to-date. We maintain comprehensive business insurance and adhere strictly to our own rigorous safeguarding policy, which we can share with your DSL upon request.

Q2: How quickly can we arrange for a bespoke staff training session at our school?

A: Our bespoke staff training sessions can typically be scheduled within 4–6 weeks, depending on our
availability and your school’s calendar. We prioritise flexibility to minimise disruption to the school day and can offer twilight or INSET sessions.

Q3: If we refer a pupil to Nest Learning's AP, how do you manage their reintegration back to our setting?

A: Reintegration is always the end goal where appropriate. We design a structured transition plan in
collaboration with your SENCo and pastoral team. This plan includes scheduled communication and a clear step-by-step strategy for the pupil's gradual return, ensuring success is prioritised over speed.

Q4: Can you provide support to prevent permanent exclusion in challenging secondary settings?

A: Yes. Our service is highly valuable at the point of crisis. We offer targeted, intensive support, including
on-site observations and tailored strategies, to address the underlying trauma driving severe behaviour,
offering a necessary intervention to avoid a permanent exclusion.

Q5: How do you report on progress to meet the statutory review cycle of a funding body (e.g., LA/VSH)?

A: We provide transparent reporting accessible via an online portal, that addresses both academic
progress and emotional/behavioural outcomes. This documentation is formatted to easily feed into your Pupil Premium accountability reports, EHCP Annual Reviews, and VSH statutory requirements.

Q6: Can you support our pupils virtually during periods of illness or remote learning?

A: Absolutely. Our digital infrastructure is robust. We offer high-quality online therapeutic tutoring that
maintains engagement and relationship-building, ensuring continuity of education for pupils who are
medically unable to attend or require remote AP.

Q7: What is the capacity for group tutoring? Can we refer small groups of KS2 pupils?

A: We specialize in small group tutoring for Key Stage 2+ pupils to promote relational skills and social
connection. We typically limit groups to 6-8 students to ensure every child receives personalised,
trauma-responsive attention, making it ideal for targeted Pupil Premium spending.

Q8: Do you charge for the initial consultation or assessment for a referred pupil?

A: We offer an initial discussion (discovery call) free of charge to determine if Nest Learning is the right fit. A detailed initial assessment and plan are then provided as part of the agreed contract before tuition
commences.

Q9: We are looking for a long-term partner for EOTAS. How do we start the procurement process?

A: We can begin by providing a detailed service proposal that addresses the needs of your Local Authority area. We are prepared to engage with procurement teams to formalise a service agreement for long-term EOTAS provision, ensuring clear pricing and service standards.
