Frequently Asked Questions for Local Authorities

Q1: How do you track attendance for pupils commissioned under EOTAS?

A: We maintain meticulous digital records of every session delivered, including attendance, start/end times, and a brief session summary. This data is available to the Local Authority or VSH to ensure full compliance with education provision requirements.

Q2: Can Nest Learning provide expert testimony or input for SEND Tribunals?

A: Yes. Given our expertise in complex SEND, trauma, and non-attendance, we can be commissioned to
provide detailed reports and, where necessary, expert input to support the LA's case or to inform necessary decisions regarding specialist provision.

Q3: How do you maintain consistency between the LA's EHCP outcomes and your therapeutic provision?

A: Before starting, we map our bespoke provision directly onto the measurable outcomes specified in the child's EHCP. Our regular reporting is structured to demonstrate progress specifically against these
statutory targets.

Q4: Do you have experience working with children placed in Independent Special Schools (ISS)?

A: Yes. We can provide complementary therapeutic tutoring and resilience building for pupils placed in ISS settings across, ensuring the VSH's Pupil Premium Plus is used to enhance their educational and emotional well-being outside of core school hours.

Q5: What are your internal quality assurance measures for therapeutic practice?

A: All our practitioners operate under a clear set of educational guidelines. We utilise internal audits and
case review processes to ensure all provision remains trauma-informed, ethical, and aligned with the
"gentle guidance, real growth" brand ethos.

Q6: If a child is transitioning from a Youth Offending Team (YOT) placement, can you provide short-term educational stability?

A: Yes. We are skilled in supporting children who require intensive, non-judgmental stability, such as those following involvement with YOT. We offer short-term, consistent educational engagement focused on building self-regulation and readiness for the next educational placement.

Q7: Can we contract you for a fixed-term consultancy to review our internal AP strategy?

A: Yes. We can offer fixed-term consultancy to local authority teams to review the effectiveness of current AP models, advise on embedding trauma-informed principles across your provision, and suggest service improvements based on best practice.

Q8: How do you manage the costs and invoicing for a caseload of LA-funded pupils?

A: We utilise efficient systems to provide consolidated, transparent invoicing for the LA. Costs are clearly broken down by pupil reference and funding source, ensuring administrative ease for your finance department. Invoices can be raised per learner, per session, or at agreed intervals for your convenience.

Q9: Do you provide support for teenagers (16+) who have left education and require re-engagement?

A: Our support extends to the 16-25 cohort where necessary. We assist in re-engaging older young
people
who have become NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), focusing on life skills,
vocational goal setting, and building the confidence to access further training or employment.
